Make your first tiled print

  1. Import an image or PDF. For a PDF, choose the page you want to print.
  2. Set the finished dimensions and choose Letter or A4 paper.
  3. Review the tile preview, overlap, and page count.
  4. Export the PDF to Files or share it to a compatible printing app.
  5. Use the same paper size in the printer settings. Select 100% or Actual Size and turn off Fit to Page.
  6. Measure the printed check square before assembling. Trim and join the sheets using the guides and numbered tiles.

Set scale from a known measurement

If a drawing includes a known length, tap Size from two points. Place A and B on the endpoints, then enter the distance you want between them in the printed result. Tileray scales the whole image proportionally. Check your printed scale square before assembling.

The finished size is wrong

Check the PDF's paper size against the paper loaded in your printer. Printer drivers can silently shrink pages to the printable area. Disable automatic scaling or Fit to Page. If the printing app has no scale control, save the PDF and print it using software that offers Actual Size.

Verify the check square with a ruler before cutting fabric or other valuable material. Tileray sets the PDF geometry; your printer and print settings determine the physical output.

Edges look missing or don't line up

Most home printers cannot print to the paper edge. Tileray keeps a 10 mm outer margin on each tile. Check that your printer supports this printable area, and use overlap to align adjacent tiles. Confirm that the same scaling setting is used for every sheet.

A large photo looks soft

Enlarging a raster image spreads its existing pixels over a larger area. Use the highest-resolution source you have. A PDF containing vector text and linework can stay sharp when enlarged; placing a low-resolution photo inside a PDF does not make it vector artwork.

PDF import needs help

Use a PDF you can open in Files. If the document is password protected, export an unlocked copy using a tool you trust and have permission to use. Tileray works with one selected PDF page per export job.

Free exports and Unlimited Exports

Tileray includes three successful export jobs. Unlimited Exports is an optional, one-time purchase, not a subscription. The purchase screen displays Apple's current localized price before you confirm. Import and preview remain available without purchasing.

Restore a purchase

Use Restore purchases in Tileray while signed in to the Apple Account used for the original purchase. An internet connection is needed to contact the App Store. If Apple reports the purchase as pending, wait for it to finish before trying again.

Apple handles payments and refund requests. You can review purchases at Apple's Report a Problem website.

Your files

Tileray processes files locally. It does not upload your images or PDF pages to us. Tileray keeps a local working copy of imported artwork and your latest project settings on this device. Replacing artwork normally removes the previous working copy. A storage error may leave an older copy on the device until you delete the app. Your original file stays unchanged. You choose where to share or save exported PDFs through iOS. Read the privacy policy for more.
